What is Exilis?
The Exilis is a non-invasive radiofrequency device that uses heat to tighten the skin and is similar to Thermage, Ultherapy, and Pelleve. Each treatment is tailored for the patient using superficial and deep heat to tighten skin. Read Dr. Irwin’s blog post about choosing a radiofrequency device here.
What areas can be improved with this treatment?
In our office we use Thermage on the face primarily because results are more consistent and Exilis on the neck and body where Thermage is not as effective. It can be performed on almost any area of the body including previously hard to treat areas such the neck, upper arm, loose abdominal skin and thighs and love handles.
How may treatments will I need?
Generally 2-4 treatments about 2 weeks apart are needed.

What will I look like right after the treatment?
You may return to your normal activities, including exercise, immediately after the Exilis treatment, as there is no down time. Makeup can be applied immediately after the treatment session. Minimal redness is seen in some patients and it generally disappears within several hours.
Who should NOT use this product?
Anyone who has a pacemaker or internal cardiac defibrillator, or metal implants in the treatment area, or is pregnant, breastfeeding, or with an ctive skin infection in the treatment area. If you have permanent fillers like silicone or Artefill, do not have an Exilis treatment in those areas.
